Bukit Peninsula - Bali Villas for Rent

Welcome to 5 Star Villa Holidays, the No.1 website for renting 5-star villas in the fabulous Bukit Peninsula, Bali, with a wide choice of stunning villas for you and your family.

The southern most area of Bali, the Bukit Peninsula is renowned for being home to some of the most beautiful beaches, best surfing, temples, golf, shopping and restaurants on the island.

The dramatic craggy coastline and arid vegetation give this area a different, but equally striking feel, to the lush tropical inland many associate with Bali.

It is fast growing in popularity as visitors fall in love with the location and variety of activities on offer so we would definitely advise that you experience this area now.

The Bukit Peninsula has some of the most exclusive and some of the most popular resorts in Bali from the upmarket ambience of Nusa Dua, to the other worldly beauty of the beaches of Uluwatu.

There is also a host of sports on offer. Some of the best golfing on the Island is to be found in the Bukit Peninsula including the Bali National Golf Club at Nusa Dua and the New Kuta Golf Club with its impeccable links course and stunning views over the Indian Ocean.

There are also plenty of choices when it comes to watersports, as well as world famous surfing breaks at beaches like Padang Padang and Balangan.

Sometimes known as the Beverly Hills of Bali this is definitely an up and coming Bali location.

There is a great selection of villas carefully curated by 5 Star Villa Holidays, picking the very best options for you on this superb part of Bali. Whichever villa you choose for you and your family you can be assured of comfort and quality in a truly special location.

Looking forward to helping you choose the best luxury Bali villa rental.

All the best,

John Paul Donnelly

P.s. The Bukit Peninsula is the perfect place to try surfing for the first time. Book some lessons at one of the friendly schools in Uluwatu and ride your first waves.

The best things to do in and around the Bukit Peninsula - chosen for you

Have a cocktail at the Rock Bar

This is one of the most fashionable and spectacular bars in Bali. With an upmarket dress code you should leave the board shorts and vests at home if you want to get a seat to watch the spectacular sunset from this popular bar. Perched on the cliff top 14 meters high above the waves below, it is the perfect spot for a sundowner. The Rock Bar has regular DJ sets and live music. Check out their Instagram for details.

Play 18 holes

Home to two courses of international standard, the Bukit Peninsula offers some amazing golfing experiences. The Bali National Golf Club course at Nusa Dua on the east coast was redesigned in 2014 and compares favourably with the very best courses in Asia. On the west coast, the links New Kuta Golf Club clings to the Bukit Peninsula's limestone cliffs with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.

Visit the GWK Cultural Park

Be wowed by this park dedicated to celebrating Indonesian culture. There are a series of stages across the 250 hectares where regular shows are held, giving you a chance to see some authentic Balinese traditions.

And you certainly won't miss the giant statue of the mythical Garuda bird, a national symbol of Indonesia, with the Hindu god Vishnu on top.

Surf Padang Padang

This one isn't for beginners, or the fainthearted. It is quite a trek to get down the steep steps to Padang Padang Beach tucked between the limestone bluffs. However it is definitely worth the effort as many consider Padang Padang to have Bali's best surf waves when the swell is right and there are several international competitions held here every year.

See the waterblow at Nusa Dua

Keep your distance or you could end up soaked at this natural wonder. A unique rock formation forces the seawater at pressure into a blowhole that spouts out high above the rocks. It's one of the most spectacular natural sights on this amazing island and definitely shouldn't be missed.

Watch a traditional fire dance

A great activity for the entire family is a traditional Kerak or fire dance. Often this can be combined with a visit to the Uluwatu temple. The story of Ramanyana is told with dancing, chants and fire as the sun sets every evening from around 6pm.

Serangen Island

Also known as Turtle Island this is a must for those interested in sea life conservation. There is a rescue centre for injured turtles. Batches or hatchlings are also reared until they are old and strong enough to be set free. You can also learn about the valuable conservation work being carried out by the dedicated staff.

Be stunned by Uluwatu Temple

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is rightly one of the most famous sights in Bali. The spectacular location on cliffs, 70 metres above the Indian Ocean, is a favourite for Instagram moments. Beware of the notorious monkeys though. Hold on tight to your valuables though or they could be snatched by these sneaky primates.

Paraglide from the southern cliffs

Fly in tandem with an instructor from the cliffs. Southern winds from May to October give perfect conditions for paragliding and a spectacular view of the Bukit from above. Your instructor will pick you up from your resort on the Bukit and take you to one of the main centres at Timbis or Gunung Payung. If you really love it, you can even complete a paragliding course in under 7 days.

Find your ultimate beach club

Every day is a rest day at Sunday's Beach Club. A travelator takes you down from an exclusive gated villa community to this small but hip club.

At the One Eighty Beach Club, the glass-bottomed infinity pool is mind blowing and not for those suffering from vertigo.

The pool reaches out from the cliffs 500 feet high above the sea and waves below.

There are dozens more beach clubs from the achingly cool to exclusive. You'll be sure to find your perfect lazy brunch spot.

Visit beautiful Jimbaran bay

This stretch of golden sand and surrounding bay are a great family friendly location. Although not technically part of the Bukit Peninsula, Jimbaran is the start of the foothills that lead up to the higher ground of Bukit.

Restaurants in the Bukit Peninsula - where shall I dine today?

Dugong Restaurant

Featuring the freshest produce from farmers no more than 50 miles from the Padang Padang location.

The impressive bamboo structure sits 200 metres above sea level giving diners fantastic views over the ocean.

There is also a great selection of fine wines and champagne. This is a special location for special occasions.

Koral Restaurant at The Apurva Kempinski Bali

This incredible underwater restaurant is a must see.

Koral is a one of a kind in Bali. Enjoy international and Indonesian cuisine as shoals of tropical fish swim past.

Make sure to book well in advance.

Di Mare

A taste of the Mediterranean in Bali, this restaurant is popular with holidaymakers and the international expat community.

Set on the clifftop with an Indian Ocean backdrop as part of the Karma Kandara Resort, Di Mare has won numerous awards.

Pirates Bay in Nusa Dua

This pirate themed family restaurant is a great treat for the kids. There is a huge replica pirate ship, treasure hunts and even dressing up. As expected there's a pirates-themed kid's menu which always proves hugely popular.

Bumbu Bali

One of the most upmarket and authentic Indonsian dining experiences. Famous across the Island for its flavourful Baliense specials.

There is also a cooking school on site where you can try your hand at creating some of the restaurant's signature dishes so you can rustle up a culinary feast yourself when you return home.

Shopping in the Bukit Peninsula

Kedonganan seafood market

Take a trip to the seafood market in Jimbaran in the early morning. Watch as that day's catch arrives when returning fishermen unload their spoils.

Bali Connection

From department stores to souvenir shops, this shopping complex in Nusa Dua has everything you could need or want. There's also a great selection of cafes and restaurants when you need a little break from your retail therapy.

Samasta Lifestyle Village

A great place to pick up gifts or souvenirs in Jimbaran. Also nail bars, snack bars, ice cream parlours and much more. Whether you're a surfer, a golfer, or you appreciate beautiful views and fine dining, the Bukit Peninsula is not to be missed.

Our Story

In 2005, John Paul Donnelly, began his luxury villa journey. He spent three years building resorts and holiday apartments in Alanya, Turkey, along with his brother, Joe. The concept was to create the most luxurious villas on the Turkish coastline and provide clients, along with their family and friends, the opportunity to enjoy exclusive holidays together.

By 2008, after the successful development of 3 resorts, JP had well and truly fallen into the world of villa rentals. With a portfolio of 6 villas and a desire to explore new places, he decided it was time to take the villa rental business outside of Turkey. He wanted to give his clients access to beautiful holiday rentals in destinations across the globe.

The expanding villa rental company was rebranded in 2011 to 5 Star Villa Holidays, and today 5 Star Villa Holidays offers over 10,000 luxury villas around the world.

JP and his partner, Helena are currently travelling the globe, devoted to hand selecting the best villas and property management companies, and giving them their stamp of approval! 5 Star Villa Holidays' ambition goes beyond being an ordinary holiday rental company.
