When is the best time to visit Niseko?
The best time to visit Niseko depends on the experience you want when you arrive. Official ski season in Niseko lasts from late November to April but the Niseko resort is open all year round and in summer there are still tons of sports, natural attractions and more to keep you fully entertained.
Quality fresh powder is the reason why most people come to Niseko and if that's what you want, late February to March are the best times to visit. March brings better weather and is particularly good if you enjoy snowboarding and piste skiing.
There is still good snow coverage in April, although minus the powder but if you're a beginner or even intermediate you might enjoy the quieter slopes and cheaper prices that are around at this time.
The holiday season in Niseko lasts from late December all the way on into mid February. Niseko draws an international crowd so Christmas, school holidays in Australia and New Zealand as well as Chinese New Year means huge festive crowds spill into Niseko in a steady stream throughout the winter.
